After arriving in Houston, he served the Almeda United Methodist Church as Music Director for eight years. Adolfo has served and developed the Port Arthur Moravian Fellowship (originally call the Miskito Moravian Fellowship) since the summer of 1988. Though some of the first participants were Nicaraguan refugees (Miskito Indians) who had come to Texas around 1980, a larger influx in 1988 and 1989 swelled the membership.
Rev. Gonzalez was approved by the Unity Synodical Committee in September 1989 as a “lay pastor for a special ministry in the Port Arthur Moravian Fellowship” and granted a Pastoral License in 1991. Later he was approved for ordination by the Synodical Committee meeting at its March 1991 meeting. He was ordained into the ministry of our Lord on May 19, 1991 in Port Arthur, Texas. Rev. Gonzalez was the pastor and served the Miskito Moravian fellowship for 32 years, now called the Good Shepherd Moravian Church.
Survivors include: Henry Zamora Dublon (non biological son) and family, other relatives, friends, and all church Congregation.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 10 AM At Good shepherd Moravian Church, 2910 34th, Port Arthur, Texas. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
